| St. George chorus at Vrané near Prague | |
|
Our choir has got name of St. George / patron of the church in our village Vrané nad Vltavou. The village having some 1870 inhabitants is located 20 km south of Prague center at the right river side. In 1993 we have celebrated 1000 years of the first written record. The village Vrané has been mentioned by prince Boleslav II., who had donated it to the newly established Prague Břevnov Black Monk’s monastery in 993.

The choir has been established spontaneously in 1986. At first just
children singing the Christmas carols once a year. Later on the parents
and other adults came. Since the beginning of 1995 the regular auditions
have been held and the choir acts actually during all the year.
The highest number of chorus‘ members was achieved in 1998. It
was 32 people. Currently there are
20 amateur singers there -10 soprano +
5
alto + 2 tenor + 3 basso. We sing mostly spiritual and ecclesiastic pieces
both at concerts and masses. We use to invite guests to our concerts as
well.
For the musical accompaniment and solos we use amateur musicians
– members of the choir. Electric
and church organ

Marie Nesnerova, conductor Mr. Alfons Limpouch.
